The Miss Oklahoma Scholarship Pageant gives young women in our state valuable leadership experience. More than $8 million dollars have been made available and nearly 10,000 women have participated in the Miss Oklahoma program in state and local competitions since The Kiwanis Club of Tulsa started sponsoring the pageant in 1972.
This pageant is more than just a beauty contest. Our goal is to find a beautiful young woman who focuses on her scholastic achievements and demonstrates the importance of giving back to her community through service projects. Each year, as part of the pageant, the Kiwanis Club of Tulsa gives additional recognition to the contestants who excel in the area of service through the Community Service Awards. These awards are presented during a luncheon during pageant week.
