Just three short years after the first Kiwanis Club was formed, in April of 1918, one hundred fifty enterprising businessmen gathered in the basement of the Hotel Tulsa and organized Tulsa’s first Kiwanis Club. Since then, Kiwanis members are always alert for civic needs, and then develop projects around those needs eventually turning it over to other groups to continue the activity.

Over the years, the club has held many fundraisers, including the original Community Chest which later became the United Way of Tulsa, our annual Charity Golf Classic, the nationally-acclaimed Miss Oklahoma Scholarship Pageant, and many other events. The club has enjoyed a rich history over the years, with its members coming from fields like accounting, civil service, education, management, government, and many more.
