Each year, the Kiwanis Club of Tulsa holds the Kiwanis Golf Classic. The funds raised from this event support the Key Club Scholarship program as well as a designated charity. For the past several years the charity has been the Special Olympics of Oklahoma. This is a project that take many man hours of preparation and planning. Members are then asked to not only play in the Golf Classic, but also generate other teams from their friends and co-workers. There is also a silent auction to help raise funds as well.

19th Annual Kiwanis Charity Golf Classic a Huge Success!

The 2011 event was held on Monday, September 26 at the Forest Ridge Golf Club. We had 15 foursomes that had a great time on a great course in great weather. The Special Olympics flight was won by the last team entered and was headed by Sergio Andre’. The Scholarship flight was won by a group from our major sponsor, The Jess L. and Miriam B. Stevens Foundation and headed by Bruce Wilbanks. The overall winner of The Kiwanis flight was the entry from Arvest Bank. Kurt Kazmierski warned us that he had put together a dynamite team. They finished at 12 under par. We gave out lots of prizes after our hamburger buffet. Miss Oklahoma, Betty Thompson, drew out the winner of the i-pad drawing and, mister lucky, Sergio Andre’ took it home.
